Spring has arrived at Kaipara College, and with it a season of growth across our kura. The days are longer, the grounds are greener, and there is a clear sense of momentum as we reach the end of Term 3. Nowhere is this more visible than in the construction of our new paddocks. These will give our students practical learning space for agriculture and horticulture and mark an important investment in our place. They reflect our value of Kaitiakitanga: caring for the land we learn on and leaving it better for those who follow. Spring is also a reminder that growth depends on the right conditions.
Our students have worked hard this term, and the holidays are an opportunity to rest and reset before the final stretch of the year. For our senior students, Term 4 is when a year of effort comes to fruition. NCEA external examinations begin in November, so I encourage you to set aside regular time over the break to review your notes, complete outstanding work and practise past papers. A steady, planned approach will serve you far better than a last minute rush. Equally important is a genuine break. Time with whānau and friends, time outdoors and time away from screens all help students return refreshed and ready to learn. Balance and rest is not a distraction from success; it is part of it. Please keep safe over the holidays, whether you are travelling, on the water or at home. Look out for one another and make good choices. Thank you to our staff, students and whānau for your support this term. I look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4.
