**Parent Update Thursday 5 November**
Senior academic prize-giving was excellent. It was wonderful to see so many there. We very much appreciated the support of Helensville School in giving us their hall. Congratulations to all our prize winners.
We now have had well over one hundred test results. There are more positive tests. They are in the area associated with the hall, admin, music and drama areas. They come from a more detailed and intensive sampling of the areas which were of concern originally. The good news is that the rest of the school site, including buildings and classrooms, is safe. So far there are no positive air samples from anywhere. We are now continuously monitoring the air on the perimeter of the exclusion fence.
The priority is still to get the roof cleaned and sealed by Sunday so that we can have the school back to normal on Monday morning.
The senior student study programme has been running smoothly with the tennis and rugby clubs hosting tutorials for senior students. These tutorials will run until Friday. Other students are in touch with their teachers via email and Google docs. Staff are reporting good turnouts and both staff and students are appreciating the chance to do some final preparation for the exams.
NCEA will run in the gymnasium.
Parents of senior students, please remind your son or daughter that they must collect their exam admission slips from school today or Friday. They come to the careers room through the bus bay door.
The Year 10 Environmental Studies class trip to Tiritiri is still running tomorrow, Friday. Details are in the student update of Tuesday, 3 November.
The information evening for parents of Year 10 students going into Year 11 next year will still be held next Tuesday, 11 November. It will be in the school Library from 6.30 – 7.30 pm.
The school buses will run as normal and bring students to the college bus bay.
The school office is temporarily located in the Careers Room accessible through the door in the bus bay.
The school phones and communication systems are working as normal.
Should there be any hitch in our plans for Monday we have contingencies in place. Please watch the website over the coming weekend.
Thank you very much for the messages of support and your understanding.
