Dancing at Lughnasa

A sold out four night season of Brian Friel’s “Dancing at Lughnasa”  opened on Wednesday  night. The  play centres around a summer in the lives of  five sisters and a frail older brother The story, narrated  off stage, by the grown up son of one of the sisters  deals with a time of hope and love  which as  the summer ends  foresees sadness and hard economic times for the sisters.
The Kaipara College production  was characterised by outstanding performances by all the cast  as their intensity drew the audience into the play.  Congratulations to the cast and crew  for this outstanding production.  Special thanks to Patrice Wilson, drama teacher extraordinaire for her tireless efforts  in bringing  this exceptional piece of work to life.
